Salicylic Acid Pretreatment Modulates Wheat Responses to Glyphosate

چکیده
Glyphosate is an extensively used herbicide because of its non-selective action for weed control. Salicylic acid (SA) a phenolic compound that has the potential to increase plant tolerance diverse stresses. To test SA ability modulate responses glyphosate we young wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) seedlings grown as water culture. Plants were sprayed with 1 mM SA, and 24 h later 0.5 glyphosate. All measurements performed 14 days after treatment. Wheat growth was reduced by Stress markers (proline malondialdehyde) significantly increased showing oxidative damages. Incapacity cope stress evidenced reduction in thiols phenolics content, accompanied slight induction superoxide dismutase catalase activities. Enhanced activities peroxidase, glutathione reductase glutathione-S-transferase expected participate detoxification. applied alone had no important effects on measured parameters. pretreatment decreased caused additional amplification antioxidant defense systems glyphosate-treated plants. Growth partially restored combine-treated plants due application. probably triggered stress.

Physiological responses of glyphosate-resistant and glyphosate-sensitive soybean to aminomethylphosphonic acid, a metabolite of glyphosate.
Aminomethylphosphonic acid (AMPA) is formed in glyphosate-treated glyphosate-resistant (GR) and glyphosate-sensitive (GS) soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] plants and is known to cause yellowing in soybean. Although, AMPA is less phytotoxic than glyphosate, its mode of action is different from that of glyphosate and is still unknown. Greenhouse studies were conducted at Stoneville, MS to determi...
متن کاملAmino acid homeostasis modulates salicylic acid-associated redox status and defense responses in Arabidopsis.
The tight association between nitrogen status and pathogenesis has been broadly documented in plant-pathogen interactions. However, the interface between primary metabolism and disease responses remains largely unclear. Here, we show that knockout of a single amino acid transporter, LYSINE HISTIDINE TRANSPORTER1 (LHT1), is sufficient for Arabidopsis thaliana plants to confer a broad spectrum of...

Salinity is one of the main obstacles to the successful production of agricultural products. Hormonal compounds such as salicylic acid (SA) as plant growth regulators can have different physiological and biochemical effects in plants under salt stress. In present research, the effects of different concentrations of sodium chloride (2, 6 and 10 dS/m) and foliar application of SA (0, 0.25 and ...
متن کاملBacterial responses to environmental herbicide pollutants (glyphosate and paraquat)
The toxic effect of herbicides on non- target microorganisms may influence degradation of organic matter resulting in changes to nutrient cycling. In the present study, different strains of bacteria incubated in media containing different concentrations of glyphosate and paraquat were assessed over a period of two incubation terms. The deleterious impact of the herbicide was observed as glyphos...
متن کاملAtWRKY22 promotes susceptibility to aphids and modulates salicylic acid and jasmonic acid signalling
Aphids induce many transcriptional perturbations in their host plants, but the signalling cascades responsible and the effects on plant resistance are largely unknown. Through a genome-wide association (GWA) mapping study in Arabidopsis thaliana, we identified WRKY22 as a candidate gene associated with feeding behaviour of the green peach aphid, Myzus persicae The transcription factor WRKY22 is...
